I SLAP FLOOR - A New Voice for Whit?

UPDATE: Happy April Fools Day! Don't worry. This was all in good fun. Andre Stojka is still the voice of Whit.

It's the end of an era. It was announced today that Andre Stojka will be retiring from Adventures in Odyssey later this year. Andre has been on the show since 2010. As we say goodbye to him, we also get to say hello to a new actor for Whit.

And that would be...

John Rhys Davies!

Yes, that John Rhys Davies. The same one that played in Indiana Jones and  Lord of the Rings. He's also been on many radio dramas like FOTF Radio Theatre, Lamplighter Theatre, and others.

When asked if Davies' British accent was too much of a departure from previous voices for Whit, a representative for AIO assured us that "John Rhys Davies is a very talented actor who will easily fit into the role of John Avery Whittaker" and that "audiences will surely love his take on this beloved character." You can read the full press release here.

Davies will start voicing Whit in Album 64 in 2018.

What do you think about this development?
