I know Adventures in Odyssey is an awesome radio drama, but there's other great Christian radio programs like AIO.Here's a list of some:
Down Gilead Lane
Probably Odyssey's biggest rival,DGL centers around the Morrison family and their experiences in life.
Jonathan Park
In Indiana Jones-like style, this action/adventures is sure to leave you in...Suspense! Oops, wrong show!Anyway, this show lets you join the Park and Brenan families as they fight for Creation. This show will not disappoint!
Kids Corner
An upbeat kids show all about...lizards?!? That's right.Listen to the adventures of Liz and his friends while they learn important life lessons.
Paws and Tales
Visit the town of Wildwood as some lovable and humorous animal characters take you on a journey where you'll find out how to grow in your spiritual walk.
Jungle Jam
It's the beloved and most hilarious Christian radio show ever! This wacky show, starring many AIO cast members, tells the lives of animals in the jungle with Biblical values.Complete with toe-tapping tunes, this drama is sure to please!
The Pond What do you get when you mix a duck that wears glasses,a never-stop-eating turtle, a sarcastic frog, and a wise alligator? You get the hit show The Pond!
Following in the same format as Jungle Jam,this program will get kids and adults laughing "alligator tears" while still learning lessons.
Your Story Hour
A very morally-based show,Your Story Hour gives you Bible stories, history shows, and more in this long-running radio show.
Lamplighter Theatre
A relatively new show, but already has quite a following! LT takes stories from rare and out-of-print books and dramatizes them. The stories are amazing and have very strong spiritual truths. Produced and acted by many of the cast and crew from Adventures in Odyssey & Radio Theatre, these dramas are definitely worth their weight in gold!
I'm done. Now I want to know which of these shows you like the most and why.
Just leave a comment on this post.

Um, Down Gilead Lane ended. This weekend's episode was the last one. The producers announced it on the Offical DGL Podcast: The Coloraine Connection.
ReplyDeleteNot exactly. There's one more this Saturday.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry. I didn't see that.
ReplyDeleteAdventures in Odyssey is my favorite. Mainly because I've never heard any of those other shows, except for Kids' Corner, which comes on the radio right before Odyssey where I live. I think that Kids Corner is actually kind of annoying.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Down Gilead Lane and Jonathan Park. I thank that Jonathan Park probably provides more competition for Odyssey than Down Gilead Lane does. I've seen way more Jonathan Park than Down Gilead Lane in retail catalogs.
Anyway, that's what I think.
MarvelousMarvin
All of those shows are good in their own ways, but Down Gilead Lane is definitely the most enduring and interesting. Jonathan Park is another radio drama which I've liked enough to collect on CD and is very different from most other Christian radio dramas.
ReplyDeleteBut you forgot to mention one of the very best radio dramas (at least if the first few shows are anything to go by), Lamplighter Theatre. I don't think an audio drama has impressed me so much as this one has.
Dave
It's long over due, but I've finally added LT to the list.
